The artwork of Daiva Kupstienė, a student of the Object Art study programme at the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI), is exhibited at an international art exhibition in Milan, Italy.

‘The history of my painting began in 2019 with the Kaunas Plein Air, organised by the Kaunas Culture Centre to celebrate the year of the Temporary Capital,’ says D. Kupstienė. Casting acrylic on the canvas, the student subtly reflected on the historical event of Lithuania and called her work “The hustle and bustle of the Temporary Capital”. The expressive abstractionism prevailing in the painting caught the attention of the Italians and was selected for their exhibitions. Currently, the student’s work travels through art exhibitions from one Italian city to another – from Venice to Milan.

The iKonica art gallery of Milan’s VERUM art and culture centre, where you can currently see D. Kupstienė’s painting “The hustle and bustle of the Temporary Capital”, aims to bring together the works of contemporary artists, whether it is painting, sculpture, photography, installations or video art.
