Steps
- Choose the study programme.
- Register in our online application system: https://apply.kaunokolegija.lt/. Applicants can indicate 2 study programmes of their choice in descending order of priority.
- Please upload all documents to the platform that are required.
- Receive the invoice for the application fee (120 Euros) and pay it. After proceeding with the payment, upload its proof of it to the application system.
- After the application fee is received, KK will proceed with qualification recognition following Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education recommendations. More information regarding the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education can be found here. Applicants do not need to pay additionally for academic recognition.
- Take the general competences and knowledge test and motivational interview then wait for the results. The responsible specialists will contact the applicant before the test.
- If you haven’t provided a certificate proving your English language level, please wait for an invoice for the English language test we offer, and upload a copy of the bank transfer after payment. The responsible specialists will contact the applicant before the test.
- Get the admission confirmation by our Admission coordinator
- Pay the tuition fee and sign the study agreement.
- Apply for a Temporary Residence Permit.
- Plan your arrival to Lithuania.
Documents to be submitted
- Official notarized documents (minimum 60% GPA) of previous education (high school diploma and university diploma, if any) including an academic transcript;
- Copy of a passport or an ID card;
- Motivational letter;
- At least 1 reference;

An English language proficiency certificate* (IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent) showing knowledge of the English language. Requirement: IELTS ≥5.5, TOEFL ≥75 , EnglishScore 400–499 (CoreSkills).Applicants can sign up for an English language test offered by Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution if they are unable to produce documentation of their language skills for a price of 30,25 EUR. The test is available for completion only during the admissions period.
All of the official documents have to be presented either in English or Lithuanian language. Verification from the Notary for English and Lithuanian translation of all written documents is required.
The Application will not be considered if some of the required documents are missing.
NOTE. EU citizens have an opportunity to apply for the state funded place. Applications should be submitted via the joint admission network Association of Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions, otherwise the application procedure is the same.
Important dates and deadlines
Deadlines for the application:
The institutional admission period runs from 16 December to 1 June for applicants from EU/EEA countries and until 1 May for applicants from non-EU/EEA countries.
Decision of admission and academic recognition is made within 5 weeks.
Application fee
Each applicant for full-time studies must pay the application fee of 120 EUR. The payment is non-refundable.
Tuition fees
Students of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution who are not state-funded pay the price fixed in study agreement. The price is divided into equal parts for every semester.
First-year students pay the full tuition fee for the academic year. In further years, students who cannot pay the whole amount for the semester are able to submit a request for partial payments.

The admission and academic recognition procedures
- The procedure of the recognition of foreign qualifications at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution is performed following the Guidelines of the Procedure for Assessment of Education and Qualifications Concerning Higher Education and Acquired under Educational Programmes of Foreign States and International Organizations (approved by Order No 1-419 of the Director of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, on 9th of November 2021).
- Admission is regulated by the Rules of Admission of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution.
- By submitting the application, the applicant attests that the supporting documentation is accurate, truthful, and comprehensive and that KK is able to authenticate the materials’ legitimacy. For additional information regarding the supplied qualification, KK may get in touch with the national ENIC/NARIC (SKVC) center or the document issuing authorities.
- Once the qualification has been assessed, a decision is taken on its academic recognition. Decisions may be made as follows:
1. recognise a foreign or international qualification as equivalent:
1.1. to a qualification awarded in Lithuania at the appropriate level of the Lithuanian qualifications structure;
1.2. to the corresponding level of the Lithuanian qualifications structure;
1.3. a relevant part of learning or study which is part of a qualification belonging to the Lithuanian education system;
2. to recognise a foreign or international qualification and to confer certain rights on the holder of the qualification (to pursue only vocational activities and/or further education in vocational training programmes or programme modules in a particular field (sub-field) of education; to pursue further studies by enrolling only in programmes in a particular field of study (groups of fields of study);
3. recognition of a foreign or international qualification only in conjunction with additional requirements (examination(s), assessment of the competences acquired by the qualification holder, additional courses, training) which the qualification holder will have to fulfil;
4. not to recognise a foreign or international qualification.
- The academic value of a foreign qualification is determined by comparing it with the most comparable qualification offered in Lithuania according to the following criteria:
- level,
- purpose,
- scope (duration),
- the quality of learning (study),
- learning outcomes.
- Right to appeal:
– Admission decision cannot be appealed if the applicant did not fulfill the general conditions for admission to KK study programs. Candidates are encouraged to confirm that their documents fulfill all requirements before applying for studies by consulting admission specialist.
– Submitting and handling appeals against academic recognition is based on the Rules of Admission of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, Chapter VII Appeals. The holder of the qualification who disagrees with the decision of KK regarding academic recognition of the qualification and responds to the reasons for the decision may submit a request to the Study Administration Unit within 10 calendar days to review the qualification acquired abroad. An applicant who disagrees with the decision of KK may, within 14 calendar days from the receipt of the decision, submit an appeal to the Appeals Commission for the Recognition of Qualifications and Qualifications Related to Higher Education and Obtained in the Framework of Educational Programmes of Foreign Countries and International Organisations established by the SKVC, which may adopt such decisions.
