Paulina Vitauskaitė, a graduate of the Fashion Design study programme at the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI), represented Lithuania at the Slow Fashion Show in Stockholm, Sweden.

Slow Fashion Show is a non-profit association focused on the young generation of fashion designers who combine style and technology to create slow fashion, in other words, collections based on the principles of sustainable fashion, without harming the environment and people. The mission of this event is to promote sustainable fashion and support new, emerging designers who are shaping a sustainable future.

In January, Paulina Vitauskaitė graduated from the Kauno kolegija HEI Fashion Design study programme, received her diploma, passed the selection of young designers and on 6–7 March and was the only one from Lithuania at the Slow Fashion Show event, which was attended by 22 designers from different countries (Estonia, Sweden, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Denmark, etc.), presented their collection under the name ‘Thalassophobia’. The young designer created her work based on the principles of sustainable fashion, i.e. recycling old unworn products. The very idea of the collection originated from the fear of water (Thalassophobia), so various motifs related to the ocean were revealed in the pieces.
