On 16–17 September, 2024, lecturers Jurgita Paulauskaitė and Vaida Valalytė of the Department of Education of the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) led creative experimental workshops on the topic “Overcoming the professional identity of a modern pedagogue” for students studying education.
More than 70 students of the Pre-School and Pre-Primary Education study programme participated in the creative workshop and gained experience. This creative workshop is part of the international project “Overcoming the professional identity of a modern pedagogue”. The project aims to strengthen the critical thinking skills of future pedagogues, assess the stereotypes of the pedagogic profession that exist in society, and help construct and accumulate experience in the gradual formation of professional identity.
During the implementation of the project, intensive cooperation is taking place with the project executor Klaipėdos valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution and partners Panevėžio kolegija Higher Education Institution, Klaipėda University Student Union. Continuing the project in 2024 creative video material workshops will be held in Klaipėdos valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution and Panevėžio kolegija Higher Education Institution in November. At least six video materials will be created to transform teacher stereotypes. 210 students will learn about the stereotypes of the pedagogue profession, and their prevalence in society, and will understand the ways and possibilities of changing the image of a pedagogue.
In Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, creative workshops will be continued on 4–5 November, and then two creative video workshops “Transformations of stereotypes, creating the image of a modern pedagogue” will be held.
