The year 2020 was exceptional for Kaunas University of Applied Sciences because of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Applied Sciences and because this year marked the end of the strategy period of the University of Applied Sciences 2013-2020 activities. Throughout the year, the University of Applied Sciences community has been actively developing the new strategy for 2021-2025.

According to I. Stravinskienė, Head of the Management and Quality Unit, it was not easy to bring the whole community together for discussions during the pandemic. “In outlining the new strategic directions of activities of the University of Applied Sciences, we sought to involve the University of Applied Sciences community as widely as possible. Insights from students, academic and other staff, feedback from the social partners and their suggested directions for cooperation, and finally the demands of society reflected in recent research at both national and international level, helped us all agree and shape a new five-year strategy for the University of Applied Sciences,” –  the head of this process Inga Stravinskienė spoke about the development of the strategy.

According to I. Stravinskienė, surveys of employees and students were conducted, during which they expressed a strong opinion on the adequacy of the mission, vision and values ​​aimed in the University of Applied Sciences strategy 2020 and the need for strategic directions. In spring, training on strategic planning was organized for strategy development working groups. Based on the situation analysis of the University of Applied  Sciences and research results, the strategic groups held strategic sessions both live and virtually throughout the year, generating ideas for the future of the University of Applied Sciences.“ We are pleased with the active involvement of members of the University of Applied Sciences community in developing the strategy. Their insights were precious and ambitious. We are grateful for the entire community of the University of the Applied Sciences,“ – emphasized the head of the Management and Quality Unit Inga Stravinskienė.

The strategy of the University of Applied Sciences for 2021-2025 with the approval of the Academic Council of the University of Applied on November 23, 2020, the Resolution No. (2.2)-3-53, was approved by the Council of Kaunas  University of Applied Sciences on December 3 ( Resolution No. (2.1)-2-23).
