From the start of 2019, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences is participating in an international project E-DESIGN: European Digital Education for Social Inclusion and Global Neighbourhood (Nr. 604451-EPP-1-2018-1-DE-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN), carried out under Erasmus+ KA3 action measures.

From the end of 2020, the results of this project are integrated in general school lessons. The first to use these results were the students of Kaunas “Santaros” gymnasium. A few lessons were organized for them about creating 3D visualizations with SketchUp and integrating them into general education subject “Information Technologies”.

During remote activities, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Technologies, Department of Environmental Engineering lecturer dr. Vytautė Juodkienė introduced students to the principles of three-dimensional graphic imaging and object modeling using the SketchUp program, presenting the possibilities of applying this program in real-life activities. Students using SketchUp tools like drawing, editing, uploading photos, created their own dream house.

According to a gymnasium teacher-methodologist Vaida Valiuvienė, students are interested in getting acquainted with the various software, which can be applied to everyday life, as well as acquire practical knowledge.

The integrated lesson for gymnasium students – one of the one of the activities of the international project E-DESIGN: European Digital Education for Social Inclusion and Global Neighbourhood (Nr. 604451-EPP-1-2018-1-DE-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN), which Kaunas University of Applied Sciences is participating in as a partner.
