The Lithuanian Association of Occupational Therapists organized the conference “Challenges of occupational therapy in Lithuania: are we ready?” on 11 November 2022.

During this conference, excellent presentations were presented by Lithuanian OT community about the struggles and joys of occupational therapy practice.

Currently, the association and the lecturers of the Department of Rehabilitation: Evelina Lamsodienė and Aistė Pranskaitytė-Bielevičienė, contribute to the inclusion of occupational therapists in the team of ambulatory services at home.

The biggest news is that Lithuania’s occupational therapists have elected new members of the Association Board, which consists of 7 members.

In the end, board members voted for the new president of the Lithuanian Association of Occupational Therapists, who is now Giedrė Sasnauskienė and vice-president – Aistė Pranskaitytė-Bielevičienė, both of them are community members at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution.

It is significant as the Lithuanian association of Occupational Therapists is a member of the World federation of occupational therapists (WFOT), participates in the Council of Occupational Therapists for European Union (COTEC) and is one of the collaborators with the European Network of Occupational therapy in Higher Education (ENOTHE). The strategic goal  of the Lithuanian association of Occupational Therapists is to get  approval of occupational therapy study programmes by WFOT.
