According to the data of national ranking, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences takes the leading position among the state institutions of the same profile and stands the second in the overall ranking. Kaunas University of Applied Sciences is among the state leaders regarding the students and provided studies, academic personnel, as well as employer evaluation.

State universities of applied sciences were ranked according to five major parameters: students and provided studies, added value created by the alumni and employer evaluation, the  academic personnel of the institution, study facilities and resources, competition in the international study space and students’ attitude towards their institution.

Kaunas University of Applied Sciences has been ranked as one of the best in terms of their students and provided studies. It received 35.71 out of 40 possible points and took the second position. This criterion involved the assessment of the ratio of the number of the most talented students, who started their studies in 2019, to all admitted first year students of Professional Bachelor’s degree studies. It also reflected the proportion of the students receiving scholarships or state-funding, the average score of the study fields and the ratio of dropouts to all of the students.

According to the criterion of added value created by alumni and employer evaluation, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences received 19.73 points and took the third place. This parameter assesses whether the knowledge of the graduates meets the needs of the company, as well as the ratio of the number of the unemployed graduates of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences to all alumni.

Kaunas University of Applied Sciences has also shown successful results in terms of academic personnel, study facilities and resources. For this criterion Kaunas University of Applied Sciences scored 4.24 and was placed third. It involved the assessment of the relationship of the academic personnel with students, the relationship of lecturers under 35 with the whole academic personnel, as well as the performance appraisals.

Based on the data of the magazine “Reitingai”, it is not the first time Kaunas University of Applied Sciences takes the leading position among the state institutions providing non-university higher education.
