On the 20-23 of June, the lecturers from the Rehabilitation and Nursing Departments of the Faculty of Medicine organized an international student exchange week the BIP “Soft Skills in Rehabilitation Team” in Kaunas University of Applied Sciences. This week is the second part of the mixed intensive programme of the Erasmus+ project. The first – virtual – part took place in May (on the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st), when students participated in theoretical lectures and discussions. The idea of ​​the project was to bring together future specialists of the rehabilitation team – students and teachers, who would assess the need of “soft skills” when working in a team of rehabilitation specialists, treating patients after burns. Teachers and students from Tartu Health Care College (Estonia) and Daugavpils University (Latvia) also participated in the programme.

Each day of the project at Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, students began by improving teamwork skills, creating tasks or games. During the project, the students learned about post-burn patient care, the formation of psychological climate, the peculiarities of communication with the patient, paying great attention to the creation of team roles (in a multicultural aspect), the creation of conditions for the successful cooperation of rehabilitation team members, and the possibilities of using information technologies.
