On the 20th of February, Erasmus Student Network at Kaunas University of Applied Sciences (ESN KK) celebrated its 10th birthday. Since its establishment in 2010, this non-profit organization has faced changes in presidents, members and even logos. However, the purpose remained the same – helping foreign students integrate, improving mobility conditions and increasing the local students’ involvement into international activities.

ESN KK carries out a mentoring programme which aims to facilitate the foreigners’ adaptation process in the community of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences and Lithuania. Student-mentors help foreigners before their arrival, greet them upon arrival and become the closest friends during the semester. Even though for locals simple daily actions seem easy, they might cause a lot of frustration for foreign students. Therefore, mentors take an essential part in dealing with domestic or other daily problems, such as charging the public transportation card or finding a supermarket.

ESN KK organizes various events for foreign students of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences and other higher education institutions, participates in trainings and national platforms by ESN Lithuania. Agnė Marčiulaitytė, the president of ESN KK, is inviting the students of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences to join the organization. If interested, contact kk@esnlithuania.org.
