The friendship with the Escola Superior de Saude do Alcoitao/Alcoitao School of Health Sciences (Portugal) started with e-mails in the winter and in a few months it have developed into effective collaboration. On the 23rd-27th of May, lecturers from the Department of Rehabilitation (Kaunas University of Applied Sciences) Daiva Baltaduonienė, Evelina Lamsodienė, Aistė Pranskaitytė-Bielevičienė and the Head of the Department Milda Gintilienė, visited Portugal on Erasmus+ staff training mobility. The Lithuanian lecturers were warmly welcomed and hosted by Silvia Coelho Martins, professor and Ersamus+ coordinator of the Occupational Therapy Department of the Alcoitao School of Health Sciences.

During the visit meetings were held with lecturers from occupational therapy and physiotherapy programmes. The curricula and the possibilities for its improvement were discussed together with colleagues from the Alcoitao School of Health Sciences. International internships and other mobility opportunities for the students of both institutions were discussed as well. The lecturers had the opportunity to meet the first-year occupational therapy students, have a conversation, and present Lithuania and Kaunas University of Applied Sciences. It was agreed to develop the cooperation between the institutions in the future – to participate and organize joint projects and international conferences, to participate in BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) projects, and to meet at the conference HESDIA organized by the Faculty of Medicine (Kaunas University of Applied Sciences).
