25th of November, 2022 the final conference of the international project “Developing Social Entrepreneurial Skills in Higher Education” (SEinHE) coordinated by Kaunas University of Applied Sciences (No. 2020-1-LT01-KA203-078013) will be held.

The two-year higher education strategic partnership project, carried out according to the Erasmus+ program together with partners from Thomas More University of Applied Sciences (Belgium), LAB University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Rezekne Academy of Technologies (Latvia) and University of Nicosia (Cyprus), aims to provide new insights into social entrepreneurship in higher education institutions, to strengthen the social entrepreneurship competencies of teachers. It is important to note that the project “Developing Social Entrepreneurial Skills in Higher Education” is intended to promote the social business model, which is considered one of the most effective ways to combat the social crisis. This project responds to the vision of the social economy for the 21st century formulated by “Europe 2030” and the strategic goals of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences.

During the implementation period of the project activities, the teachers-researchers of the partner institutions gained experience from the countries considered to be experts in social entrepreneurship – Belgium and Finland – and together they created a model for the development of social entrepreneurship competencies in higher education institutions. This methodological tool consists of collections of articles describing and illustrating the phenomenon of social entrepreneurship and social enterprises in the five partner countries of the project, as well as the social entrepreneurship ecosystem model of higher education institutions created by the partners.

During the project, a program of social entrepreneurship training courses for higher education institutions teachers (“Train the Trainer”) and a new study subject “Social Entrepreneurship” were also created, which will be integrated into the study process of the project partners – higher education institutions.

During the final conference, the intellectual products created during the project, their impact and applicability in other higher education institutions will be presented. Moreover, the presentation of Vilma Popovienė, Director of the Lithuanian Social Innovation Cluster, “Social Entrepreneurship as a Culture Changing Mindset” will be delivered.

Participation in the conference is free, certificates will be issued to the participants.
