Mindaugas Samuolaitis, Head of Career Centre

This academic year, the ranks of the Kaunas University of Applied Sciences community members who obtained a doctorate degree were joined by Ligita Šilinė and Laura Žlibinaitė, lecturers of the Rehabilitation Department of the Faculty of Medicine, and Mindaugas Samuolaitis, the Head of the Career Centre, who successfully defended their doctorate theses.

The 2021-2025 strategy of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences emphasises that the University is perceived as a constantly learning organisation, which ensures purposeful improvement of the qualifications and competencies of employees (lecturers, researchers and other employees), and learning and self-development are perceived as a right and duty of every member of the community. To achieve this goal, employees are encouraged and given the conditions to deepen their knowledge by studying in higher education institutions, participating in seminars, training, conferences, carrying out project and research activities, preparing research papers, etc.

The Head of the Career Centre received a doctorate degree

The community of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences congratulates M. Samuolaitis, the Head of the Career Centre of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences and the lecturer of the Business Department at the Faculty of Business, who successfully defended his dissertation in the field of management science and obtained the doctorate degree.

M. Samuolaitis defended his thesis on 30 June 2022 at Vytautas Magnus University. The topic of the dissertation is “Modelling of sustainable development of food products”. The supervisor of the scientific work is prof. Dr. Rolandas Drėjeris (Vytautas Magnus University).

Three community members of the Faculty of Medicine obtained the doctorate degree

Laura Žlibinaitė, Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine

L. Šilinė, lecturer at the Rehabilitation Department of the Faculty of Medicine on 28 September 2021 successfully defended her dissertation in the field of natural sciences, the topic of which was: “ The effect of age and physical activity on the kinetics of oxygen uptake kinetics and cognitive functions”. The supervisor of the scientific work is prof. Dr. Arvydas Stasiulis (Lithuanian Sports University).

Donatas Gužauskas, Head of Practical Studies at the Faculty of Medicine

L. Žlibinaitė, lecturer at the Rehabilitation Department of the Faculty of Medicine on 27 September 2021 successfully defended her dissertation in the field of natural sciences, the topic of which is: “The effect of active weight loss strategies on health indicators, motor and cognitive functions of obese and overweight middle-aged women”. The supervisor of the scientific work is prof. skilled Dr. Albertas Skurvydas (Lithuanian Sports University), scientific consultant – associate professor Dr. Rima Solianik (Lithuanian Sports University).

Donatas Gužauskas, Head of Practical Studies of the Faculty of Medicine, successfully defended his thesis this year. The topic of the dissertation is “Favourable educational environment of the school, promoting physical activity of primary school students”. The supervisor of the scientific work is prof. Dr. Saulius Šukys (Lithuanian Sports University), scientific consultant – prof. Dr. Rasa Jankauskienė (Lithuanian University of Sports).
