At the prestigious OMC Hairworld World Championship held in Paris, Akvilė Bernotaitė, a student of the Fashion Design study programme of the Faculty of Arts and Education of the Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI), together with the team of the faculty’s long-term partner, the Association of Hairdressers and Beauty Specialists (KIGSA), presented her work.
OMC is the world’s leading authority in the hairdressing and beauty industry, with global excellence in aesthetics. Participating in the OMC Championship is a huge recognition for beauty professionals, as a panel of expert judges with thorough knowledge and experience assesses the entries and ensures that the highest standards of excellence are met.
This year, over 1,000 beauty industry professionals from 50 countries of the world demonstrated their excellence in 22 nominations.
‘Stepping forward with fashion, with the best masters from all over the world, competing for the world champion or the big team cup are dreams that, if you want to, become a reality for many and a bridge to world fame, recognition and the top of professionalism,’ emphasised the KIGSA president Jolanta Mačiulienė.
Future fashion design specialist A. Bernotaitė created a dress for one of the nominations. The student, together with the KIGSA team: Brigita Činikiene (hair and make-up), Irina My-My (jewellery), association chairperson J. Mačiulienė (hair stylist) and Liepa Činikaite (model) presented the image of the Red Carpet appearance at the competition.
