Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) continues its cooperation with the Digital Technology Sector (DigiTech) Association INFOBALT, whose aim is to create the best conditions for technology application, market development and export.
On 14 September, at the meeting of the Kauno kolegija HEI representatives and the board of the association, the opportunities of partnership, scientific applied research, non-formal education were presented, and the current issues of specialist training were discussed.
“Cooperation with the association INFOBALT, which unites more than 170 members of the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector, is primarily important for the training of highly competent specialists in both short studies, professional bachelor’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree studies,” emphasises the Head of the Science Applied Activities and Commercialization Department Dr Giedrius Gecevičius, who also holds the position of vice president at the INFOBALT.
He also emphasises the role of cooperation in ensuring the supply of suitable specialists, reskilling them and developing competencies that create high added value (upskilling).
“An important direction is the use of knowledge created during applied scientific research and the competences of researchers in creating innovative technologies, products, services and solving the challenges”, Dr G. Gecevičius says, especially emphasising the importance of cyber security or data engineering solutions for business, industry or public sectors.
The association INFOBALT represents the interests of its members in state government and management institutions, prepares and implements the Lithuanian IT sector export promotion strategy, organises business promotion missions, prepares projects financed from the structural funds of the European Union, conducts various research related to the field of ICT.
