Today’s morning, explosions echoed in various parts of Ukraine – the state next to us is undergoing an attack on one of its most important values, freedom. In February 2014, candles were lit in front of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania to commemorate the Heavenly Maidan Centenary, and bonfires of solidarity were lit. Today, as then, it is particularly important to stand together with Ukraine.

Together with the Students’ Association of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, other associations of students of Kaunas higher educational institutions, Kaunas City Municipality and Kaunas 2022, we invite you not to remain indifferent to the events in Ukraine, to show solidarity today at 6 p. m. in a gathering in the Unity Square, where the “Freedom Shines” campaign of unity and solidarity with Ukraine will take place, thus expressing support for the Ukrainians during this difficult time. During the event, the Ukrainian national anthem will be sung, lights will be lit, so you are welcome to bring your national decorations and flashlights.
