On March 21-23, 2022 within the Erasmus+ project “Developing Social Entrepreneurial Skills in Higher Education (SEinHE)” Kaunas University of Applied Sciences as a project coordinator together with partners from Belgium, Finland, Latvia and Cyprus has organized the Train the Trainer program, which was hosted in Belgium by Thomas More UAS.
During this 3-day event, a total of 15 lecturers from various study fields in partner higher education institutions have been trained according to a developed social entrepreneurship teaching methodology. The main aim of the training was teaching social entrepreneurship in such a way, that it would generate innovative pedagogical methods, which could be used during teaching activities and would enrich participants‘ professional profile: increase their competences in new teaching methods, develop intercultural communication, language skills and enrich their knowledge about social entrepreneurship.
Participants after the training will duplicate the training event in their own institutions to share good practice with colleagues. They will also integrate the gained knowledge, enriched competences and skills to their taught study subjects in order to help to develop social entrepreneurship skills and competencies of students in various study programs.
The Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership in Higher Education project “Developing Social Entrepreneurial Skills in Higher Education (SEinHE) (2020-1-LT01-KA203-078013) has been coordinated by Kaunas University of Applied Sciences and implemented together with partners from Finland, Belgium, Cyprus and Latvia since 2020. The project aims to develop an understanding of social entrepreneurship in higher education and provides its benefits to the community, expanding the competences of teachers in social entrepreneurship.
This year, the project partners will together create a new study subject “Social Entrepreneurship”, which will be integrated into the study process of the project partners – higher education institutions- and will organize an Intensive Program (IP) for students. In autumn, the project will be concluded by a final conference in Lithuania. It is expected that the teachers and students participating in the project will acquire knowledge of social business and will actively contribute to the fostering of culture, social and economic vitality in Lithuania and Europe.
