The Faculty of Medicine of the Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) completed the implementation of the Erasmus+ programme project “Overparenting – allow your children to make mistakes” (Free Kids) coordinated by the Portuguese partner Agrupamento de Escolas n.º 1 de Gondomar, project no. 2020-1-PT01-KA204-078497″. Partners from Slovenia, Romania and Turkey also participated in the project.

The project aimed to improve the understanding of the problems caused by excessive care (hypercare) and help parents raise independent and self-confident children. This goal was achieved by actively involving pedagogues in the project activities and with their help in carrying out educational activities for parents. The project carried out activities aimed at creating and testing tools for strengthening positive parenting skills.

  • Curriculum for educators (kindergarten teachers, primary school teachers)
  • Training programme for parents
  • Website for parents of positive parenting skills development techniques and practices (FREE KIDS – Payhip)
