General description: The aim of Geodesy study programme is to develop a creatively thinking, responsible surveying specialist who is able to manage geodetic framework, to draw topographic plans, stake out reference points and markers that will guide the construction of new structures, verify the location of structures during construction, make the control geodetic measurements, to identify and clarify cadastral data of real objects, use, organize and update public spatial data sets, know how to set up a business enterprise, make independent decisions and seek for professional development.

Learning outcomes. Graduates will:

  • apply the general mathematical, physical and engineering methods for understanding the fundamentals of the geodesy;
  • have basic geodesy, cartography, cadastre, territorial planning knowledge relevant to practice;
  • apply geodetic works principles, methodologies, legislation, the technical regulations and rules of Geodesy and Cartography and choose right software;
  • apply analytical and modeling methods for solution geodesy, cartography, real estate cadastre tasks;
  • apply engineering knowledge and understanding in formulating and performing designing tasks in accordance with requirements defined;
  • understand designing methodologies and will be able to apply them;
  • use the spatial data sets for preparation of geodetic, cartographic and cadastral practical projects or solving tasks;
  • apply the methods of space geodesy to the practical research analytical works;
  • identify cadastral data of real objects according to the laws provided to cadastre manager;
  • renew, state and create special geodesy bases following the legislation regulating this work;
  • create geodetic and topographic plans and data of georeference base cadastre using the legal and normative documents of the Republic of Lithuania regulating these works;
  • apply geodetic methods for the investigation of construction sites and engineering networks as well as the formation of a plan;
  • tailor specialized technical and computer software for solving measurement engineering tasks;
  • create spacial data sets using remote methods by analyzing and assessing data as well as making ortophotographic maps;
  • model spacial surface using GIS, CAD technologies by performing data analysis;
  • onstruct the data sets of real estate information systems by forming and evaluating real estate, also by performing data search, spatial data projecting and analysis following legal and normative documents of of the Republic of Lithuania.
