On 14–18 October, the Head of the Aesthetic Medicine Centre, EU cosmetic safety expert, plastic surgeon, professor Dr Bernard Cambier from Belgium. This is already his fourth visit, and this time he led an intensive five-day series of lectures, where important issues of skin structure, health and aesthetics were discussed.

The lectures delve into the anatomy of the skin, the influence of hormones on the skin, and various skin diseases, such as acne, rosacea, and skin cancer. In addition, Dr B. Cambier presented the advanced technologies used for skin rejuvenation and treatment procedures, the possibilities of laser technologies, and the combination of various technologies to achieve a synergistic effect and discussed in detail the role of nutrition in maintaining skin health.

He also shared practical cases from his clinical activities, emphasising the importance of early diagnosis of skin cancer, effective treatment strategies and the correct application of aesthetic medicine in solving various skin problems. The beautician trainer who came together with the lecturer demonstrated the practical part as well. Not only students and lecturers of the Department of Cosmetology but also graduates participated in the guest seminars and gained knowledge.

During the visit, further opportunities for cooperation in carrying out project activities and preparing publications were discussed. Joint international research and projects related to the development of innovative cosmetology products and methods were discussed.

Dr B. Cambier’s lectures not only enriched the knowledge of students and lecturers but also opened up new opportunities for cooperation, which will have a positive impact on both the academic community and the Cosmetology study programme.
