According to the strategy for 2021–2025, in 2025 Kaunas University of Applied Sciences is envisioned as an advanced European higher education institution, therefore strategic guidelines for increasing the internationality of the university activities are purposefully set. In response to this goal, students of the General Practice Nursing study programme of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Medicine will now have the opportunity to obtain a double diploma – on March 14–18th, representatives of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Medicine visited South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK), where a cooperation agreement was signed.

The Faculty of Medicine of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences has close partnership relations with South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, therefore the cooperation agreement signed providing the possibility for students of these higher education institutions to obtain a double diploma was a comprehensible step.

“The Dual Degree Diploma in General Practice Nursing study programme is developed with the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences as a strategic partner. We are cooperating in the international projects, scientific, research activities, mobility of teachers and students of the Erasmus+ programme,” says Vilma Rastenienė, Head of the Nursing Department of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Medicine.

“This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the wide range of information systems and databases in the preparation of final theses, to develop general and special competencies, to gain international experience in nursing practice, to continue studying for a master’s degree,” V. Rastenienė reveals why the possibility to obtain a double diploma is important for students.
