Photography study programme of Academy of Arts of Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution is organising the INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA ART FESTIVAL, which will take place from 1–31 October.
The aim of the festival is to disseminate information about media art and photography, to attract and maintain interest in presenting and promoting these art forms, to strengthen the existing and to establish new collaborations with institutions of higher education with media art study programmes, to create a space for artists, students and amateurs to share their experiences, to establish new contacts and to implement joint projects in the future.
The theme of the festival is THE FUTURE OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ART.
Professional artists, students and amateurs are invited to create artworks that reflect the new realities, opportunities and risks that artificial intelligence brings to our society. Don‘t be afraid to explore more complex societal themes, such as the ethical implications of artificial intelligence in everyday life and art, issues of privacy, authenticity and manipulation which it poses.
One artist can submit up to 20 artworks. Each artwork must be accompanied by a small text which explains how the submitted artwork reflects the festival theme.
Submissions will be judged by the festival‘s jury of leading experts in photography and media art. The selected artworks will be exhibited in solo and group exhibitions during the festival period – 1– 31 October.
