On 14–15 December, Evelina Lamsodienė, a lecturer at the Rehabilitation Department of the Faculty of Medicine, and Aurimas Galkontas, project manager of the Faculty of Medicine, participated in the EQUAL TREATMENT: Supporting equal treatment and accessibility of people with intellectual disabilities to secondary and tertiary healthcare services project partners’ meeting, which took place in Brussels (Belgium).

At this meeting, representatives of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) presented a quality assessment questionnaire, which will aim to assess the increase in competencies of healthcare professionals and students of health sciences.

During the meeting, project partners from Spain, Greece and Belgium reviewed the progress of the project, which is expected to be implemented on 30 October 2024. The meeting also approved the first part of the virtual learning class for healthcare professionals and students in the health sciences group. By using this virtual learning class, healthcare professionals and students will be able to independently improve their competencies and communicate with people with intellectual disabilities.

The meeting also provided guidelines and approved the necessary learning materials for the second and third parts of the virtual learning environment. During the project meeting, it was decided that the next meeting of project partners will be held on 27–27 June in Girona (Spain).
