Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution goals
The new Director, Dr A. Brusokas, has expressed his satisfaction with Kauno kolegija’s Higher Education Institutions achievements both in the context of the international institutional evaluation, which was a year ago, and in which Kauno kolegija’s Higher Education Institution activities were evaluated with high scores, and in the top of the ranking of state HEIs providing collegial studies. He also highlighted that Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution has ambitious goals.
“Together with Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution community, we have consolidated the vision to become a progressive and sustainable European higher education institution by 2025, fostering Lithuanian national culture and traditions. I also see Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution as a European University of Applied Sciences offering different study levels of higher education studies.
From the perspective of national reform, I see Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution as a sustainable, open and progressive University of Applied Sciences in the Kaunas region where collegial studies, applied science and arts are developed. Implementing this vision is undoubtedly based on our mission, which is of utmost importance – studies based on innovation and practice and the development of applied science and arts, which are essential for the development of society,” said Dr Andrius Brusokas, the newly appointed Director.
“One of Kauno kolegija’s Higher Education Institution main principles is to respond to the opinions of the community members – students, academic and non-academic staff, alumni, social partners and other stakeholders, discuss the key issues, publicise the decisions, and foster a culture of cooperation. Community spirit is essential for achieving the progress indicators, as only a united community can achieve the goals set”, – highlighted the new Director.
International activities
“Over the last five years, we have paid great attention to the development of internationalisation, participated in various international projects which create significant value. Beneficial partnership with business allows us to improve study content and conduct targeted applied research activities.
“During the internships, students gain experience based on the latest know-how. Many of the students remain employed in these companies later on. Consequently, we are regularly improving the content of our study programmes and adapting them to modern market needs,’’ emphasised the Head of the Department of Management and Quality.
In the 2023 ranking of HEIs providing collegial studies by the magazine Reitingai, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution was ranked as the leader and first in the overall ranking. The institutions were evaluated according to four criteria: students and studies, added value created by alumni and employers’ assessments, academic staff and the well-being of study facilities, and competing in the international study space.
“This achievement is a merit of the entire Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution community. It is proof of the professionalism of our community, and we are very pleased and proud of it. This award undoubtedly strengthens our community’s commitment to implementing Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution vision,’’ emphasised Dr Inga Stravinskienė, the Head of the Department of Management and Quality.
