To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the institution’s establishment, we invite the students, employees, and guests of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution to a one-day festival on Owls Hill (Faculty of Arts and Education, A. Mackevičiaus St. 27, Kaunas) on September 1. This event marks not only the beginning of the academic year, but also a unique opportunity to celebrate Kauno kolegija’s anniversary, creativity, community spirit, and the modern, vibrant energy of the Čiurlionis Year.

Festival programme:

12:00 p.m. | Original artwork and treasures from the collection of M. K. Čiurlionis and the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art, which were exhibited here 100 years ago, will return to the ‘Čiurlionies Gallery’ for one day. This is a unique opportunity to see the work of the most famous Lithuanian artist in the place where the first Lithuanian art gallery was founded and where the foundations of professional art education in Lithuania were laid.

1:30 p.m. | Official opening of the academic year celebration

2:30 p.m. | Discussion ‘Reflections of Creativity’ with performers

We invite you to arrive early, and depending on the weather conditions take care of appropriate clothing and protection from the sun or rain.

Free entertainment and educational workshops will be waiting for you throughout the day: spikeball training and tournament, mini disc golf lesson and competition, virtual reality experience of M. K. Čiurlionis’ paintings ‘Pasaulių sutvėrimas’ (‘Creation of the Worlds’), face painting workshops for children, games ‘Vienas smūgis’, ‘Tossit’, Viking game ‘KUBB’ and many other activities.

There is no parking available at the event site, so we recommend using public transportation.
