Associate professor at Academy of Arts (Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, Faculty of Arts and Education), designer, founder of the fashion house ‘leKeckas’ Dr Kęstutis Lekeckas won the Bronze A‘ Design Award – a prestigious international award given to exceptional designs for creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship. The competition was held in Como, Italy.

The award was given for the collection ‘Undiscovered Landscapes’, inspired by the receding views of the earth and landscapes resembling maps. The collection reflects the ideas of sustainability, social contexts and artistic reflection on the modern world. It received special attention for the technique that opens a new approach to responsible design – coats are created from the remnants of the sewing industry. The collection not only stands out for its aesthetic expression, but also raises important questions about sustainability, fragility and the search for security in a global context.

We are proud that such a creative, insightful and internationally recognised professional works with students of the Fashion Design study programme, inspires them to find their own creative path and develops a modern, responsible approach to fashion.
