This week, Faculty of Business Vice Dean for Studies Gelmina Motiejūnė and Project Development Manager Ramunė Bagočiūnaitė are visiting California State University, Chico (USA). The purpose of the visit is to develop academic cooperation, share good practices and seek new opportunities for students and faculty.

Relations between Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution and Chico State were established in 2022, with the signing of a cooperation agreement that provides for the development of academic exchanges, research and other initiatives. Since then, lecturers from Chico State have been visiting Kauno kolegija, giving lectures on culinary tourism, marketing, sustainability, and healthy lifestyles, sharing their scientific experience, and promoting international cooperation initiatives.

During the visit, Kauno kolegija representatives met with the University President, Dr Steve Perez, Head of International Education and Global Relations, Dr Jenn Gruber, Dean of the School of Business, Dr Jeff Trailer, and heads of other departments and study programmes. They also participated in lectures on human resource management, global corporate social responsibility, and got acquainted with the FinTech laboratory and the SAP (systems, applications, and data processing products) competence center. This experience provides new perspectives for academic discussions and the application of practical solutions in studies.

Kauno kolegija Vice Dean G. Motiejūnė emphasises the importance of international cooperation: as the world becomes more globalised, it is extremely important for modern specialists to understand business processes in an international environment. Such visits contribute to improving the quality of studies, increasing the internationality of the faculty, and purposeful cooperation between institutions, including conducting joint applied research and updating the content of studies.

This visit is another step in line with Kauno kolegija’s strategy, providing students and lecturers with the opportunity to gain new knowledge, get acquainted with innovations and apply practical solutions in a global business context. Kauno kolegija strives to be an open and modern international higher education institution, where academic partnerships not only change experience, but also create new opportunities for all study participants.
