Stress and coping strategies

Students will analyze the links between objective stressors, illness and health behavior. They will evaluate the impact of individual differences in responses to stressors and will be able to determine occupation-linked stressors, maladaptive and adaptive styles of coping. Students will apply different stress management strategies and evaluate possibilities of reducing the effects of stress at work and other environments. |
Rehabilitation in Community

Creative Art Therapies

They will experience different levels of emotions caused by these arts, they will know activating or calming action directions, will assess customers and the environment, and conduct workshops. They will understand the concept of creativity, the essence and the nature of therapies. Students will learn how to control the body, voice, thoughts, and emotions practically, and any ideas or themes. |
Basics of Sensory Integration

Joints Mobilization of the Upper Limb

They will be able to independently assess the independence and functional condition of children and adolescents with physical and/or mental disabilities, summarize the results of the research, determine the goals of occupational therapy, select models, methods, and tools for an occupational therapy plan and its implementation, to deliver the occupational therapy session, to set criteria for OT program adjustment. |
Adaptation of Technical Aids and Environment. (for Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) | 3 | Spring | from 2026 | After the course, students will be able to make an individual choice of a wheelchair or other technical assistance aid, taking into account the nature of the disability and the person’s physical capacity. Summarize the characteristics of the splints produced. Analyze and evaluate the prescription and use of occupational therapy aids and acquire the knowledge to make suggestions for redesigning the living environment. Students will also be introduced to occupational health and ergonomics concepts, basic terms, and applications. Students will have the knowledge and ability to assess body postures in the workplace, the working environment, and the impact of tools on people, and will be able to design prevention programs and advise on the design of safe workplaces. |
Physiotherapy for Therapeutic and Geriatric Patients

4 | Autumn | Laura Žlibinaitė | The aim of the subject is to get familiarized with the methods of clinical examination, assessment and treatment of a therapeutic or geriatric patient/client, to apply the current physiotherapy methods related to rehabilitation, physical medicine and physical activity to therapeutic and geriatric patients. And later, after completing the study subject, students will know how to recognize and evaluate the specific symptoms and needs of the patient/client, create a physiotherapy program, and be able to effectively communicate and cooperate within rehabilitation team and medical staff in order to achieve the greatest effectiveness of physiotherapy. |
Physiotherapy for Neurological Patients(for Physiotherapy) | 4 | Autumn | Ligita Mažeikė | The aim of the course is to get acquainted with neurological diseases and possibilities of physiotherapy. Students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge of patient / client examination, assessment, and treatment methods, to apply the latest methods related to rehabilitation, physical medicine and physical activity. Will be able to identify and assess the specific needs of the patient / client. Use the obtained research data to motivate the patient / client for self-help. Communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the rehabilitation team and medical staff to maximize the effect of physiotherapy. |
