Ergonomics 3 Spring Giedrė Sasnauksienė The aim of the study subject – to introduce students with professional health‘s and ergonomic‘s concepts, main terms and  adaptation possibilities. At the end of the subject students will get knowledge and be able to evaluate body poses in work place, working environment and tools influence for human. Will be able to create prevention programs and will advise on the installation of safe workplace. 
English Language 3 Spring Violeta Kamantauskienė While studying the course, students learn to use professional terms in the foreign language and use the information sources necessary for the specialty, i.e. dictionaries, reference books, encyclopaedias, Internet websites, databases. They also develop professional language reading, listening, writing, speaking and translation skills.
Stress and coping strategies 3 Spring Dainė Krasuckienė During the course, students will get acquainted with the concept of stress and stress response mechanism, will analyze the impact of stressors on well-being and health, as well as opportunities to reduce stress through various stress prevention and coping strategies. Will develop stress coping and self regulation skills.
Courses of specialisation
Individual and Professional Oral Hygiene 3 Spring Daiva Mačiulienė While studying the course, students learn about the origin of soft and hard plaque, its importance for the originating  of oral and dental diseases; and measures to remove it. They analyse measures for individual oral hygiene care, possibilities of using them and discuss the target groups they can be designated to. Having finished the course, students are expected to explain the importance of nutrition for the preservation of oral health; understand the etiology of oral and dental diseases; and describe oral care products.
Preclinical Work with Phantoms 3 Spring Kristina Paužienė The course provides information about the classification of dental hygienist’s instruments and their diversity as well as the peculiarities of the equipment used. In order to train students to correctly choose and use the instruments, they are taught not to damage patients’ gums, teeth, and also ensure their comfort during the procedure practicing with phantoms. Practical activities include the analysis of the peculiarities of sharpening as well as the possibilities of application of  other equipment. Students are expected to be able to choose appropriate instruments and other additional equipment to provide high-quality professional oral hygiene.
Comprehensive Patient’s Assessment  3/6 Spring Daiva Mačiulienė/ Kristina Paužienė/ Rita Juchnevičienė  While studying this course, students learn to comprehensively assess the patient and perform the professional oral hygiene using instruments and ultrasonic scalers. They are taught to apply various periodontal indices to assess a patient’s oral health; and examine a variety of tools for application in different situations. Having  performed the professional hygiene and analysed the patient’s oral health in case of indications they learn to apply various bleaching techniques.
Professional Internship  of the Procedures Performed by the Dental Hygienist  6/9/12 Spring Kristina Paužienė/ Daiva Mačiulienė They remove mineralised or non-mineralised dental plaque with instruments and ultrasonic apparatuses, polish the surface of teeth and dental fillings, apply air abrasion method, teach patients individual oral hygiene. Taking into account periodontal indices, students assess the periodontal condition, and, depending on the patient’s oral condition, choose appropriate procedures and perform them. 
Technique of Making Fixed Dental Prostheses 3 Spring Diana Skausdickienė/Aušra Baltrušaitienė While studying the course, students learn theoretical aspects of producing fixed dental prostheses and perform practical and individual tasks, which enables them to recognise the types of polymers used for denture finishing, their characteristics as well as possibilities of their application; understand the biomechanics of bridge denture and compare the compatibility of materials. Students develop their skills of analysing and assessing the disassembled working models, properties of the materials used and their impact on human health. They get ready to produce a single or bridge metal polymer dental prosthesis.
Technique of Making Arch Dental Prostheses 3/6 Spring Audrius Kavaliauskas While studying the course, students learn theoretical aspects of producing arch dental prostheses and perform practical and individual tasks, which enables them to analyse and construct arch dental prostheses                 with brackets using Kennedy classification. They also learn to perform paralelometry; design, model, cast, process and polymerise an arch dental prosthesis; assess the suitability of the arch dental prosthesis on the model as well as the restoration of masticatory function.
Professional Internship of Dental Prostheses Making Technique 6/9/12 Spring     Inga Vasilavičiūtė During this professional internship, students develop practical abilities and skills, improve dental technician’s competences and ability to solve problems related to his/her work. The internship provides students with an opportunity to apply theory in practice. They produce dental prostheses, analyse the stages of their production that meet patients’ demand and the requirements set for the laboratory. Trainees accurately fill in records (the diary of the internship) approved by the mentor. In the course of the internship, students reach the aims set in the internship programme and are assessed in accordance with the criteria defined.
