In order to draw attention to the importance of physical activity, to better understand the added value of physical activity in education and to find ways to integrate mobility in Erasmus+ projects and educational activities, the Education Exchanges Support Foundation invited representatives of all educational sectors to submit applications and participate in the Erasmus+ thematic event on 8–11 September at the seminar “Active Bodies-Active Minds. How to Infuse Erasmus+ Projects with Physical Activity”.
Laura Mekšriūnienė, head of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) Wellness and Sports Centre, was among the 30 selected participants, emphasising that participation in the international seminar provided an opportunity to get ideas and good practice from other higher education institutions, to develop relations with Lithuanian and foreign specialists.
“The Wellness and Sports Centre of Kauno kolegija HEI organises various seminars, classes and other activities. Participating in the seminar “Active Bodies-Active Minds. How to Infuse Erasmus+ Projects with Physical Activity” I got ideas on how to further develop the activities of the Wellness and Sports Centre, what activities to offer, how to increase physical activity of students and employees,” shares L. Mekšriūnienė.
Participation in the international seminar also contributes to one of the main strategic goals of Kauno kolegija HEI – increasing internationality. During the seminar L. Mekšriūnienė also built connections with specialists from abroad, discussed about implementation of joint international activities
“During the seminar, all opportunities were created to initiate joint international projects and develop international cooperation. I think that new ideas, joint projects development with international partners can help discover new ways to increase the physical activity of members of the Kauno kolegija HEI community,” says L. Mekšriūnienė.
In order to increase physical activity of both students and employees, Kauno kolegija HEI has two gyms, an outdoor sports field, Body Design and Active Movement studios. Kauno kolegija HEI students are always encouraged to join sports teams, and employees are encouraged to participate in various sports activities organised for them.
