The growing interest in analog photography draws more and more attention to the old photography techniques. One such is the pinhole technique, which is interesting in that the variety of images created is not limited by the simplicity of the tool, on the contrary, pinhole photographs are characterised by a unique, authentic artistic resolution.
For nine years in a row, the Mira Forum Gallery, located in Porto, Portugal, has been organising a themed exhibition dedicated to pinhole photography, Mira Pinhole Photography, where it invites you to get to know contemporary photographers from all over the world using this technique. We are happy that this year, photographer Žilvinas Glušinskas, lecturer of the Photography study programme of the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI), Art Academy, and Arnas Jatužis, a student, are presenting their work at this exhibition.
After publishing an open call, the organisers of the exhibition received a large number of artists’ works, from which those that reveal professional mastery of the pinhole technique, the suggestiveness of the concept, were selected for the exhibition. The variety of photographic themes presented in the exhibition is wide, and the works are of extremely high quality and reflect, according to the organisers, the plasticity of the pinhole technique.
