From 13th September to 30th November, the International Geumgang Nature Art Pre-Biennale, titled ‘The Path Creators Walk’, is held at the Nature Art Museum Ko in South Korea, alongside the Nature Art Cube Exhibition. The biennale is one of the most prominent international platforms for nature-based art, bringing together artists from around the world to explore the connections between nature, humanity, and the creative process.
This year, the exhibition features contributions from lecturers of the Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, Faculty of Arts and Education, Academy of Arts: Sigutė Bronickienė, Artūras Rimkevičius, and Lolita Grabauskienė, along with Object Art student Daiva Kupstienė. Their participation in such a significant international project is not only an opportunity to showcase Lithuanian art abroad, but also a recognition of the artists’ creative contributions to the field of nature art.
The biennale highlights the theme of the creative journey, ‘The Path of Creators’, inviting audiences to reflect on the relationship between the artist and nature, the creative process, and the concept of sustainable art. The Nature Art Cube Exhibition, in particular, underscores the individuality of the artist and their ability to integrate into the broader international nature art community.
The involvement of artists from the Academy of Arts underscores the high international standing of the faculty’s art programmes. This collaboration between students and lecturers provides an invaluable opportunity for emerging artists to gain international experience while presenting Lithuanian art to a global audience.
