To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Kaunas School of Art, the Academy of Arts of the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) organised a series of personal exhibitions of 12 graduates of the school at the “Owl Hill” gallery of the Academy of Arts. The artists who studied at Kaunas School of Art in the 1950s–1960s presented their work: Rimantas Dichavičius, Stasys Eidrigevičius, Jonas Gasiūnas, Dainius Liškevičius, Evaldas Pauza, Juozas Statkevičius, Darius Mikšys, Židrija Janušaitė, Remigijus Sederevičius, Feliksas Jakubauskas, Eimutis Markūnas and Eglė Ridikaitė.
Until March 10, the exclusive exhibition “12 Meetings, 24 Touches” is on display at Kauno kolegija HEI (Pramonės Av. 22A, Kaunas), completing the series of exhibitions dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Kaunas School of Art, which has received much public attention.
The objects of “12 Meetings, 24 Touches” are palm prints of Kaunas School of Art graduates, twelve artists, created from luxurious Czech optical glass by the Academy of Arts lecturer, glass artist Sigita Grabliauskaitė. Twenty-four palm prints – touches – convey the meaning of the artist’s creative path. At the exhibition, viewers can see the creators’ palms up close, and try to predict the meanings of the marks left by time and work, and the stories behind them. These palm prints are like open books of the artists’ lives and work.
