To improve the quality of Lithuanian higher education and increase its attractiveness and competitiveness, Lithuanian higher education institutions are invited to submit applications every year for financial support for the activities of visiting lecturers and teaching interns from foreign countries who come to teach at Lithuanian higher education institutions. Support is provided to Lithuanian higher education institutions to which visiting lecturers and teaching interns from foreign countries come to teach according to the study programmes, subjects or modules implemented by the higher education institution, which are integral parts of the implemented study programme.

Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) submitted 46 applications for the 2025 competition for support for visiting lecturers from abroad, of which as many as 20 received funding.

‘This achievement is the result of the development of consistent international partnerships, which allows us to assess the benefits of close cooperation with foreign partners. Visits by visiting lecturers from abroad are very important in implementing the Kauno kolegija HEI’s strategic goals and its aspiration to become an advanced European higher education institution,’ emphasises Povilas Beseckas, Head of the International Relations Unit.

It is also very important that the work of visiting lecturers with students is an excellent example of internationality at home, allowing those students who, for various reasons, have fewer opportunities to participate in academic mobility activities, to gain international experience.

‘Our goal is to provide an international study experience for all students, and this programme support allows our students to be offered lectures by lecturers from abroad of an extremely high level,’ says P. Beseckas.
