The Public Management Agency together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited Lithuanian higher education institutions to submit applications for the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) EU Careers Student Ambassadors Programme for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The Student Ambassador plays an important role in promoting students’ interest in career opportunities in the European Union institutions. An ambassador is the contact person for students interested in working in the EU institutions and actively builds networks with higher education institutions, providing relevant information on employment opportunities. An ambassador is also active on the internet and social media, disseminating information and engaging students in discussions. He/she gives presentations, participates in career events organised by higher education institutions and provides information on job opportunities in the European Union institutions.

This year, 17 applications were received from five Lithuanian higher education institutions, and the ministry selected the best-performing students, who were appointed as ambassadors by EPSO. A total of 6 ambassadors were selected, who will begin their training in October 2025. Greta Vaičiūlytė, a second-year student of the Design study programme at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI), was also selected as an ambassador.

‘On January 30, I had the opportunity to participate in the selection of EU career student ambassadors. After a pleasant conversation with representatives of the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union, I learned which EU institutions student career ambassadors cooperate with and how the training takes place. I am looking forward to learning more about the opportunities for work in European Union institutions and getting to know and cooperate with students from Lithuania and various European countries. I hope to help my colleagues gain useful work experience and encourage them to contribute to the well-being of the European Union,’ says student ambassador G. Vaičiulytė.

‘I am glad that Kauno kolegija (HEI) students are actively interested in international career opportunities and seek to get involved in prestigious initiatives that open doors to professional growth in European Union institutions. Becoming an EU Careers Student Ambassador is not only an honour, but also a responsibility to spread knowledge about employment opportunities, build relationships with the academic community, and contribute to the formation of young people’s professional paths. I congratulate Greta Vaičiulytė on becoming one of the six student ambassadors in Lithuania! This is great proof that initiative, leadership, and openness to new experiences can lead to international professional spaces. I wish you success in representing Kauno kolegija HEI, implementing ambassador activities, and inspiring other students to pursue international careers in the European Union!’ shares Aurimas Galkontas, Head of the Student Affairs and Career Unit.
