For the first time in Lithuania, the Erasmus+ Teacher Academy programme is being implemented by Vilniaus kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) with 12 partners from 7 countries. The programme aims to provide future and current teachers with the necessary skills for sustainable communication so that they become reflective and proactive European teachers, able to prevent exclusion, violence, discrimination, polarisation and bullying.

Deimantė Karalė and Audronė Vizbarienė, lecturers at the Department of Pedagogy of the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija HEI, joined an international group of preschool, primary and secondary education teachers interested in sustainable communication at the invitation of Vilniaus kolegija HEI.

The lecturers participated in a discussion on sustainable communication organised by the Teacher Academy programme, conducting a self-assessment of their experience. They also got acquainted with the project stages during the presentation.

The project’s further action plan includes an analysis of the best examples of sustainable communication and sharing knowledge with colleagues. A sustainable communication toolkit for teachers working in schools and kindergartens will be tested and compiled, as well as a sustainable communication guide for teacher trainers.
