The Student Affairs and Career Unit of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI) invited alumni and their children to celebrate the upcoming most beautiful holidays of the year together. The evening’s guests were treated to a warm meeting with former study friends, informal conversations with colleagues, and a sense of community that accompanied the evening.
This year’s festive workshop for Kauno kolegija HEI alumni attracted great interest – almost 100 people participated in the event, including not only alumni but also their children.
‘The workshop offered creative activities for various age groups. Alumni made Christmas wreaths, decorating them with their unique ideas and creativity. Meanwhile, the young participants – the children of alumni – had the opportunity to create Christmas tree decorations, thus contributing to the creation of a festive mood,’ shares Aurimas Galkontas, Head of the Student Affairs and Career Unit.
He points out that maintaining contact with Kauno kolegija HEI alumni and bringing them together not only during formal events but also during informal gatherings is very important, as it promotes a sense of community and helps maintain a long-term connection with the Alma Mater.
‘Such meetings as workshops or other informal events give an opportunity not only to communicate but also to share experiences, and ideas and strengthen cooperation. In addition, these events allow alumni to engage in activities with their families, thus creating an even warmer atmosphere and involving different generations in community life,’ says A. Galkontas.
The Head of the Student Affairs and Career Unit notes that in this way the alumni club becomes a space not only for professional but also for personal growth and social support: ‘These workshops have become not only a great opportunity to spend time creatively but also to strengthen community ties against the backdrop of the upcoming holidays.’
