On 21–28 October A. Pranskaitytė-Bielevičienė, a lecturer at the Department of Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI), participated in the internship Social Integration: The Case of Malta in Malta.
During her internship, the lecturer visited various care homes for the elderly and persons with mental disabilities and participated in seminars and lectures, where she got acquainted with the principles of social care organisation, coordination, process management, control and service quality assurance standards, as well as discussed care and nursing policy in Malta.
The lecturer also visited the Richmond Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that offers comprehensive assistance to individuals with mental health problems. The purpose of this foundation is to ensure that people with mental health problems live full lives in the community. During the visit, the lecturer participated in creative workshops together with the residents of this institution.
During the visit, internship opportunities for Kauno kolegija HEI students in Malta were discussed, and contacts important for further cooperation were established.
