From December 4th to 8th, PhD student Carmen Lara Apolinario and human resources representative Ismael Acoidán García Ojeda from Fernando Pessoa Canarias University visited the Faculty of Medicine of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI). During their stay, the guests had a unique opportunity to get to know Kauno kolegija HEI, and the activities of the Faculty of Medicine and to share and acquire new skills.
During Carmen Lara Apolinario’s visit, she was introduced to the Faculty of Medicine of the Kauno kolegija HEI, the peculiarities of work in the fields of dentistry, physiotherapy, nursing and nutrition, as well as the regulation of these fields, teaching principles and applied innovative methods.
During the visit, Ismael Acoidán García Ojeda shared knowledge about the human resources practice applied at Fernando Pessoa Canarias University, compared it with the approach practised at Kauno kolegija HEI, and shared strategic insights into the management of the organisation.
On the third day of the visit, the guests, accompanied by Alina Liepinaitienė, lecturer of the Department of Nursing, and Almeda Vaidelauskaitė, international coordinator, visited Kaunas Clinical Hospital, where the representatives were kindly received by senior midwife Ilona Joneliūnienė. I. Joneliūnienė organised an excursion for the guests, during which she showed and told them about the special features of the hospital. The representatives gained knowledge about the characteristics of obstetric care and the nuances of Lithuanian hospitals and discussed the differences in the health care system in Lithuania and Spain.
During the visit, modernisation and internationalisation strategies between educational institutions, opportunities for professional connections and projects involving students and lecturers and opportunities for further cooperation were discussed with the guests from Fernando Pessoa Canarias University.
