Milda Grikšaitė-Jankuvienė, lecturer of the Fashion Design study programme of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, Faculty of Arts and Education, founder of the brand “Mild Power”, designer Milda Grikšaitė-Jankuvienė presented her latest pret-a-porter collection “Heavyweight champion of love” at the Riga Fashion Week.

The clothing collection, which is mostly complemented with multi-layered frills in pastel shades, decorated with gracefully interwoven details, colorful patterns and volumetric proportions, was inspired by boxing, – a continuation of the designer’s creative direction, which began while still studying Bachelor study programme, Fashion Design, and later became the DNA of the “Mild Power” brand.

“When creating the collection, I relied on the principles of sustainability: I used my favorite upcycling technique of tulle scraps, knitting, which is perhaps the most sustainable method in the fashion industry, as it allows the use of raw materials with almost no residue, and reused denim,” emphasises M. Grikšaitė-Jankuvienė.

The designer is delighted and excited because she felt support and received many compliments during the Riga Fashion Week. M. Grikšaitė-Jankuvienė says that she brought back only the best emotions, for which she is grateful to the organizers and audience of the event.
