On the occasion of the International Translation Day, the Language Centre of the Kaunas University of Applied Sciences invites to an open lecture on Translation and Interpretation in the Asylum Context.

The lecture will be given online on 30th of September at 10:00 a.m. by Shams Aldeen Shams Aldeen, a freelance translator/interpreter and lecturer at Kaunas University of Applied Sciences.

Shams Aldeen Shams Aldeen, who teaches Arabic at the Language Center of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, has been working as an interpreter for 10 years. Lecturer says, he chose this profession naturally. “While working as a lecturer in Lithuania, I had to translate different texts from Arabic into English to make it easier for students to understand their meanings. A little later, I started volunteering at the Lithuanian Red Cross Society, where I used translation skills to help staff communicate with beneficiaries“, – says the lecturer and adds, that the profession of translator is very meaningful, because translators are developing cultural dialogues.
