On 22 January, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution held a follow-up review of its activities, building on the international evaluation carried out in 2022. The review covered key areas including governance, quality assurance, study provision, scientific and artistic activities, and Kauno kolegija’s impact on regional and national development. The institution prepared a progress report outlining actions taken and planned improvements in response to the recommendations of the previous evaluation. The follow-up review also took into account the conclusions and recommendations from the earlier assessment of Alytus kolegija.
The remote review was conducted by an international panel of experts, including Professor Dr Colin Raban, Professor at the University of Derby, expert of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and independent consultant to higher education institutions, and Dr Oliver Vettori, Dean for Accreditation and Quality Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, as well as Director of Programme Management and Teaching and Learning. During the meeting, representatives of Kauno kolegija presented the progress achieved to date, discussed the experts’ recommendations, and explored future directions for further improvement.
Kauno kolegija’s Vice Director for Research and Development, Dr Inga Stravinskienė, emphasises that ‘this work required the concentration of a large part of the staff in order to properly and qualitatively prepare for the assessment of the Kauno kolegija’s activities. The recommendations made during the previous assessment qualitatively helped Kauno kolegija identify areas for improving its activities – this is also demonstrated by the relevant progress results.’
‘The insights provided by the experts during this review are extremely valuable for the continued enhancement of Kauno kolegija’s activities,’ says Director of Kauno kolegija, Dr Andrius Brusokas. The conclusions prepared by the experts will be submitted by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.
