The Erasmus+ exchange programme promotes cooperation between higher education institutions, ensures the quality of studies and provides opportunities to share good practices. In order to implement the goals of this programme, lecturers from the Department of Education of the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, Rasa Čižauskaitė and Deimantė Karalė, visited the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid (Spain).

During the visit, the lecturers introduced to the university students Lithuania, Lithuanian education system, Lithuanian culture and language. The students had the opportunity to hear how the Lithuanian language sounds in music, and compare the peculiarities of the Spanish and Lithuanian education systems.

The active involvement of the students of Pre-School and Pre-Primary Education was encouraged by practical sessions, which applied language education methods using drama, music and game elements. The warm welcome of the Francisco de Vitoria University community, modern learning spaces and creative atmosphere encouraged open cooperation and sharing of experiences.

‘A special moment was the meeting with Victoria González Cornelio, a student of this university, who studied at Kauno kolegija under the Erasmus+ programme a year ago. She happily remembered her time in Lithuania and expressed her desire to return. This is great proof that international experiences leave a lasting mark,’ says R. Čižauskaitė.

International exchange is not only about traveling or meeting new people, but also a meaningful step towards personal and professional growth in a global world.
