From September 8 to 12, Hilal Karakuş Özkan, a visiting lecturer from Sinop University, Turkey, will be visiting the Department of Education, Faculty of Arts and Education, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution. During her visit, she will be giving lectures to Pre-School and Pre-Primary Education students about Pre-K Mathematics, an additional mathematics education programme for preschool children. This programme aims to develop children’s mathematical abilities and skills from an early age, using playful, creative and child-friendly methods.
The knowledge conveyed by the lecturer provides an opportunity for students and lecturers to broaden their understanding of the importance of early mathematics education and its impact on the child’s further development. The programme emphasises not only traditional educational methods, but also innovative practices, including learning activities in nature, which stimulate children’s curiosity, exploration, critical thinking and creativity.
Such international visits are not only an exchange of knowledge and experience, but also a strengthening of intercultural cooperation, providing new insights and methodological ideas that our community can apply in everyday pedagogical activities.
