The final year project ‘The Culture and Transformation of Funeral Photography in Lithuania’, of Miglė Rugėnaitė, a graduate of the Photography study programme (Academy of Arts, Faculty of Arts and Education) has received international recognition – it will be exhibited for two months at one of the main photography location in Portugal – the Centro Português de Fotografia (CPF) gallery, located in the historic city of Porto.

This unique opportunity for the student’s creativity opened up during the visit of lecturer Svetlana Batura to ESMAD University (Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design) in Portugal. The lecturer visited the university under the Erasmus+ teaching exchange programme, where she not only gave lectures, but also actively participated in student portfolio reviews, presented trends in Lithuanian photography, and established cooperation with local researchers and lecturers.

International cooperation with ESMAD University is already delivering tangible results, and the presentation of the student’s work in a prestigious location is an important achievement not only for the author, but also for the entire Photography study programme community.
