“Developing Social Entrepreneurial Skills in Higher Education” (SEinHE) project organized an international IP week (intensive programme) in Rezekne Academy of Technologies, Latvia with partners from Finland, Cyprus, Lithuania and Belgium.
During the intensive programme, 26 students developed social entrepreneurship skills and competencies by participating in lectures, workshops, performing practical tasks, and modeling situations based on real societal challenges.
Before the IP week, students had to prepare a pre-assignment at their institutions – to do research on social problems in various communities while understanding how existing social enterprises are addressing them. By doing so, students advanced their understanding of social entrepreneurship (SE) while familiarizing with various SE approaches. During the second phase, which took place in Latvia, lectures/workshops, case studies and group work in international teams, generating innovative ways to solve the problems of social enterprises, were organized.
Students participating to the course will be awarded 3 ECTS in case of successful implementation of the course. These 3 ECTS gained are expected to be recognized and transferred into transcripts by home institutions.
