- know about legal documents regulating oral care specialistꞌs activity and apply this knowledge in determining consultation needs and professional activity problem solving;
- know the structure of the human body, physiology, pathological changes and will apply this knowledge in dental assisstantꞌs professional activity;
- analyze epidemiological research data in order to solve professional practice problems respecting research ethics principles;
- work independently with odontological diagnostic equipment, devices, instruments and materials ensuring infection control and complying with requirements of normative documents;
- assist odontology doctors of various specializations, oral hygienists performing various odontological treatment procedures, recognizing oral and dental diseases for various patient groups;
- recognize life-threatening conditions and react to them appropriately providing emergency medical aid;
- plan, coordinate organization processes of the institution providing dental care service applying modern information technology for patientsꞌ education on healthy living;
- work and cooperate with health care specialists respecting professional ethics and citizenship principles as well as ensuring odontological care quality based on practice;
- generate new ideas in dental assistantꞌs practice, adapt to new situations strenghtening professionꞌs image, taking care of its value and importance in society and communicating in Lithuanian as well as foreign language within professional environment; 10. foster general human values understanding the importance of life-long learning provisions;
- collect and systemize information, use modern technologies and information systems in dental assistantꞌs practice behaving appropriately with confidential information, taking care of professional self-consciousness and development of character features relevant to the profession.
